NYY - J/-O low voltage power cable - Applications 

This distribution and signal power cable is for static outdoor applications (with protection against direct UV-irradiation), in ground, in cable canals, in water, within facilities, in concrete, in conditions where heavier mechanical loads and specially tensile strains, are not expected.
It is often used in transformer stations, electric power plants, industrial plants, metropolitan networks and in other electric plants, same as for connection of signalling devices in industry, traffic and similar.
The normal minimum installation depth is 0.6 m, but is should be at least 0.8 m under roads.
In concrete it should be buried at a temperature below the maximum cable operating temperature of +70 °C according to the VDE standard HD 603/VDE 0276-603 governing PVC cables for direct burial.
When submerged underwater, the cable should not stay longer than 2 weeks at a time, maximum submersion depth being 10 metres, and it should be installed only in static water/bodies of water without shipping traffic.
